Chemistry

Chemistry isn’t confusing!

GCSE Chemistry is often considered one of the most challenging subjects in the GCSE curriculum. At our STEM Tutoring, we understand that many students struggle with the complexity of chemical reactions and the intricacies of the periodic table. That’s why we are here to help transform your approach to GCSE Chemistry from confusion to clarity.

Our tutoring sessions are designed to help you fully understand each topic and its relevance to the wider context of chemistry. By connecting the dots between topics, we help you develop a deeper understanding of the subject and improve your problem-solving and critical thinking skills. These skills are not only crucial for academic success but are also essential for future employability.

AQA, Edexcel and OCR Examination Boards.

Each lesson is dedicated to covering both theoretical notes and exam practice questions. As part of the lesson, we go through a number of exam questions, exploring what the exam board requires of students and how to score the highest marks.

Learners are supported beyond the course through the provision of high-quality, comprehensive and original materials, including notes and question booklets. These resources have been specially created to supplement the learning experience and support students beyond the online course.

The live lessons are held over Google Meet with plenty of opportunities for student engagement, including live quizzes and Q&A’s.

Students that are not able to join a full session are able to access the recording and work at their own pace using the class materials which are accessible via Google Drive and our AIM 13 website.

Subject Experts To Support Your Child

Prior to starting our Masterclasses, our Subject Knowledge Assessment Tool on our learning platform ‘Aim13’, will help identify key topics for revision and recommend masterclasses to plug any gaps in knowledge.

Our Subject Matter Expert for Computer Science is Mr Manpreet Singh. He is a former student of Nottingham Trent College, trained at Loughborough Grammar School and currently teaches at George Spencer Academy.

With an excellent understanding of what GCSE Chemistry exams require from students, Mr Singh covers good exam technique, showing students how to understand what questions are really asking, and providing strategies to help them cope with tricky questions.

Our GCSE Chemistry masterclasses include:

Past papers: Students work through programming past papers, both independently and as part of a group during our live masterclasses.

Teacher’s notes: Mr Singh presents a revision topic in full. This is very helpful in supporting students consolidate their class notes.
